This was my second games consol - I think. It was either that or the Vectrex. Anyway, what was your favourite games? Here's my top 5:

    1 - Chuckie Egg
    2 - Micro Olympics
3 - Felix In The Factory
    4 - Bug Blaster
    5 - Croaker

And to think we moan at how long a game takes to load now :D

We used to have one, my first computer as it happened. The only games I can actually remember now were frogger and something along the lines of Sphinx Adventure. It was a text adventure game, no pictures or graphics at all :rotfl:

Computer lasted about 2 months and I managed to persuade Dad to get me a C64 which I loved to bits. I just wished I'd never sold it now :( I have virtually every console / computer I have owned since but not that one.

I had and Electron and had that game too. I remember spending days on end playing Elite. I also had a book of games where you could programme in various games yourself, I think one was called "bugzap" :rotfl:

I bought an electron for Elite. It was cheapish at the time. Can't remember for sure but I'm pretty sure I bought it before Elite appeared on the spectrum because I had a spectrum at the time too. Back then I used to dream of owning a BBC B but the electron was all I could afford as they'd failed to compete with the spectrum for sales and were being cleared out.

I kept it for a long time and used to buy electron user magazines regularly.

    Favourite games were;

Elite, Dunjunz, Repton games and a huge amount of colourful arcade conversions with slightly altered names.

I had most of the 8bit computers at one time or another. Also had a Dragon 32 and 64 plus a Oric 1 and Atmos. Even rarer stuff too like Colour Genie, Enterprise 64 and Camputers Lynx 96. Never had a Jupiter Ace though.

The electron did get a lot of use though at the time mainly because of Elite.

Wasn't the Electron the little brother of the BBC Micro or was it the other way round?

I remember we had a disc drive BBC Micro at school and we played a spaceship-type educational game.

It was like the BBC B in spec except it had single channel sound and no mode 7. It was designed to be cheap to make with a huge ferranti ula chip I think. Designed to compete head on with the spectrum but it never faired as well. It wasn't as fast as the BBC either because of some sort of bottleneck in its design to keep it cheap as far as I remember.

I always loved the various Repton games and Dare Devil Denis.

I still have my first Electron (which has been broken since the mid-1980s), plus its replacement. I can't remember the last time I used it.
