I'm in the position to buy a projector system and I am looking towards the Sanyo Z2 based on the reviews I have read on it.

Having a hard time getting a demo up here in Edinburgh, but hopefully Loud and Clear can demo me one tomorrow.

Already demoed an H30, but the shop I demoed it in where using an svid connection from a £4k dvd player and the results were less than fantastic considering it could have been ran from a prog scan output, but hey, they aint getting my business now.

So, anyone bought a Z2 without demoing it first ???

    cheers

Why not wait till October and buy the new Panasonic ae700, or wait til the Z2 or Panasonic ae500 drop significantly in price. Both may get as low as £800 in the coming months I'll wager. Also, the Z3 is coming soon (if you didn't know already).

problem is, i've sold my toshiba RPTV and need a projector now.

If we all waited on new technology, we would never buy anything as something new is always round the corner if you know what I mean :)

    xxalxx,

     ???

    gsic,

If you do a search on sanyo and "ivojo", you'll unearth lots of threads from about a year ago where a flurry of members bought Z2's sight unseen at the time of the model's launch.

The "Search" facility and the FAQ are both very useful in terms of getting in-depth information - recommend you check them out.

I purchased a Z2 without actually going for a demo and as it was my first PJ was obviously very pleased with it, i am now starting to get the upgrade bug but i still think that it is a very good pj for the price.

    Sean ....

I was wondering what a visually challenged person would be buying a Z2 for.

It was sevenoaks that I demoed the H30 and was far from impressed with it, mainly because they where running it from an svid connection. Hardly awe inspiring demo material is it, especially when the dvd player had prog outputs on it but they couldn't be bothered moving the player closer to get leads connected :/

Anyways, got a demo at James Morrow at Tollcross with a Z2 and then a demo at Loud and Clear with an Infocus, not clear which model they have. The guys from www.animationaudio.com are going to be there to demo me their HTPC :D :D

So going to be a decent demo day tomorrow, specially down at Loud and Clear, I love those guys down there :p
