A lot of us have mortgages. Keep it brief and I'm sure you will get some guidance.

I have 18 months to run on my deal with Halifax, may need to move due to another child on the way. Mortgage is solely in my name. Is it possible to add my wife to the mortgage and increase amount borrowed to move somewhere bigger? Or would it be a new application? My current product has early redemption penalties

I'm waiting for an appointment to see them but just looking for a heads up.

It would depend on your wife's circumstances and the banks lending criteria. does your wife work? whats her income does she have any debts, Credit rating? will all affect the lenders decision.

Your best off not speculating and see what the mortgage advisior says first.

I'd also add that it is much more difficult to borrow now. They want so much info and take into account increases in rates. But good luck!

Yes she works but only about 20k. I have no concerns about her being accepted, just the mechanics of adding her to the mortgage
