I have a REL Q base sub and due to space restrictions this is approx 8 feet away from my TV and front speakers. Due to the location of the sub it does not integrate totally with the rest of the system. I have moved the sub next to the TV just to try it and the improvement was definitely noticeable. My TV is in the corner of the room and if I can get a smaller sub I would be able to locate it behind the TV. Can anybody recommend a good sub that is smaller than the Q base?

Both the REL Quake and the MJ Acoustics Pro 50 are smaller than the Q Bass and may fit more easily behind the TV. You need to check that they are either magnetically shielded or else that they won't be close enough to cause staining on the TV

Don't know if this interests you but there is a Kef 30b on ebay for not much money (just over 100 at present) excellent quality and compact.

i have a REL quake - it goes awfully deep for its size - plus its got a fair amount of power for a small sub. it has enough power to lift itself off the ground! its clean sounding and as its not ported, never falls foul of chuffing problems.

My M&K VX-100 fits behind my TV. No problems with magnetic interference.
