...that would welcome me into their home to demo? Really fancy a new sub and don't really want to buy blind.

I'm a nice bloke and would keep my hands in my pockets whilst admiring your DVD collection...:D

And I'd bring the beer....:smashin: :zonked: :boring:

If you would like to demo the CHT-10 then I am in the London/Essex area approx 6 mile from the Dartford Tunnel inside the M25.

    Hey guys,

I'm in Camden, North London and you'd be more than welcome to come round and have a demo of my VX-10. I got it all nice and balaced with BFD too!

I know Eric is running a commercial concern ... but it's not really polite to invite other people to visit him is it? Especially as one of the reasons that the powerbuy is cheeper than standard retail price is that you arn't getting the "normal" facilities (i.e. demoing, etc) of a dealer.

Power buy price is his retail price, and i know people from the forum have been for a demo at his place there was a thread that i cant find where he said he charges the same. I just thought that approaching the local dealer was the best bet!

Yes he has demo'd for other people ... and I'm sure you meant well ... it just seamed you were saying that a "powerbuyer" had the right to a demo. From what I understand ... the "batcave" is Erics personal home cinema not setup part of his comercial enterprise as a demo facility.

I guess I probably took your post slightly wrongly ... but maybe would better wording would have helped - something like "why not contact Eric ... he may be able to offer you a demo in the Batcave".

I know no offence was meant hornydragon ... and I hope my comments havn't caused you offence either.

    Guys,
Just to clarify. Vicki is on the right track because the Batcave didn't start off as a demo room. It was mainly used as a private facility.

However, over the last year, due to ever increasing dealerships, that situation has pretty much turned full circle. Some 80% of the time spent in the Batcave is now for demo purposes and equipment evaluation. Therefore, as it stands, the Batcave is now much more of a commercial facility and demo's by appointment are welcome.

Having said all that, come the end of this month, I will have 3 back to back installations to deal with and probably cannot show anything till at least the end of June :(

I dare say though that thanks to some of the other guys that bought Velo, and as is obvious on the thread, hopefully, there will be no shortage of sub demo offers from these kind folks.

    Thanks guys.

We can close this thread now please....I'm gonna go for the VX10 without the demo PROVIDING I sell my current sub first (need to raise the cash). So believing that Uncle Eric would not dell me duff kit and the fact that I have never tried a forward firing sub, I'm gonna go in blind.

The REL QBass, as you all probably know, needs to be up close to a wall firing backwards to get the best results from it. For mr, this is impossible and am hoping that the simple solution would be to buy a forward firing sub....

I reckon you'll not be dissapointed with the VX-10!!! I've had it firing backwards, forwards and sideways... all had almost identical results in my room.

If you do decide to demo it my offer still stands!

    Ken :)
