Anybody have one; or one of the other GC modchips?

Any comments on its features; what advantages will it give me over, say, using Freeloader?

Does it actually allow the playing of imports and other 'stuff' (homebrew for example)?

I want to be able to enable Progressive Scan with it and would use it for just that and playing Prog Scan Games (NTSC imports).

Anybody ever written any homebrew to mini dvd-r's and used it successfully?

Thanks

Any modchip (viper, qoob etc) can play backup games ... if u were looking for qoob, it does play backup games and mp3 etc. As for NTSC or PAL ... u just need to flash the bios ... or put in simple terms ... just upgrade the chip bios using ur computer or burn it into a dvd and run it.

Qoob does boot games from 8cm dvd-r and normal dvd-r ... just that u hav to change the cover if u wanna run dvd-r.

If you want to save a bit of money and don't need all the features of the qoob pro then you can get the qoob sx which basically does the same as the qoob pro except for not having as much memory and the usb flasher.

You'll be able to force progressive scan on some PAL games and direct boot games from other regions.
