I think this TV fits my HD XBOX 360 requirements  and in terms of overall size mainly due to the speaker configuration being under the screen, just wondered if any body has any comments before I part with my hard earned.

Check out the LCD TV reviews archive at tomshardware.com.

I've been looking at the Toshiba 32WLT58 which I think is a newer model but I can't find any in depth info on it. However I'm certain any HDTV should be fine with the XBox360. It's regards performance with existing/older video games platforms that I'm particularly concerned. There's very little help out there in relation to this more specialist interest.and LCD HDTVs.

should be fine. Only thing to bear in mind is that it doesn't have component sockets, they are combined with the VGA port. It does accept component inputs, you just need a VGA-component converter.

Thats if you want to use the inbox cables from the full pack. Alternatively buy the VGA cables and connect those directly.

thats only thing which put me off this and the 27" version was the lack of connections.. ie component and s video. i wud rather go for the 32WLT58 which seem's best option with all the connections.. componment and 2x hdmi.

That's what attracted me to the Toshiba 32WLT58 model too. But the mediocre reviews of another 32" Toshiba (32WLT46 I think) at the site I've already mentioned put me off Toshiba a bit although the new 27" was received much better. Apparently more newer 32" HDTV LCD reviews are being prepared so it might be worth waiting for those before commiting.

I have a 32WL56 and love it. I have to say though that this is the second one that I have had. The first one had a hum from the power supply that became obtrusive when the screen was at its brightest. That said the dealer and Toshiba were both excellent and swapped it as soon as another was available. New one is spot on. The dealer was surprised about it as he has sold lots so I probably got a rogue one! Have quite a bit of Toshiba stuff (not influenced by brand loyalty) and all has been reliable so far!
It does have a dedicated S-video input as well as S-video input on the second scart input.
When I collected new set the dealer was running an HD demo from the astra satellite on a Toshiba 32WT58. Absolutely stunning!, much better than the rubbish that my local comet are putting out as HD demo. I understand that the important bits of the WT58 and WL56 are the same.
