    Hi all,

Anybody gonna be buying the new Star Trek: The Next Generation series one DVD box set?

The packaging looks fantastic, and it has a few extra features, but as I remember, the first series was pretty lousy!

I wonder what the quality (sound/vision) will be like?

I would like to have it, but I don't think I would watch it much!

Anybody know whether the 'Motion Picture' special edition director's cut will be coming out on R2?

Yeah, getting season 1. Going for the R1 release (from A&B Sound) as it was originally made in NTSCville.

Are you aware that the Region 2 one has much better packaging?

A matter of opinion rather than 'fact' surely?

It's what's inside that counts IMHO! - NTSC source material tends to be best served by that format.

I personally think all the first series of Star Trek incarnations are pretty poor apart from the original. I wouldn’t say Enterprise has been that brilliant so far. They seem to get in their stride in later series. The same happen with the other Star program Stargate. The first was poor but the last two have been outstanding.
