    Camera Olympus E-PL5
    Exposure 1/1600)
    Aperture f/4.5
    Focal Length 14 mm
    ISO Speed 200
    Software GIMP 2.8.2

Shot had some background detail blurred out and a vignette added in GIMP to focus on the glass.

I took a few shots on theme this morning and really struggled to pick a favourite. At least I learnt a bit more about post processing! Hope you like this one, the best of the rest are in my Flickr.

I saw that about you - written in the toilets mind you ;)

Pleasing shot but needs a bit of "pop" I feel - nicely composed :)

This is all right :) Some liquid in the glass might've been good. But as far as my personal tastes go, I really liked the abstract bokeh shot you had in your Flickr, shiny jewels you called it I think :)

Just had a look at the rest on Flickr. You picked the right one for me, but as we know it's all personal :)

I like this but I think the table that's visible on the LHS detracts a bit.

Although having said that, I'm not sure how you could have cropped it out without losing too much of the cool tray border.

    I'll just shut up.

    Thanks for the feedback everyone!

The tray is a mirror placed on a stool, the background was the patio. I blurred it out but couldn't darken it enough without hurting the edge of the tiles. Perhaps with more time and experience I could have got it out in GIMP.
This crop was a compromise, after I'd taken it and gone indoors I realised I'd caught the end of the lens and my hand on the bottom edge - hard to see it in the sunshine (imagine saying that in February!)
The camera spoiled the square crop I had in mind. It's there on my Flickr but I figured that was the worse of the two versions so I recropped in 4:3 ratio.
Most of my experiments were ruined by reflections of me or the lens.

I was thinking (after I'd uploaded) that I should have put some water in the glass, next time I guess. I'm pleased with the purple smudge on the glass which is my shirt and the sharpness of the focus on the rim.

I was torn with the "shiny" shot coming in a close second to this one but I wasn't as pleased with the focus on that one.

Now I've seen the other entries I'm not expecting to come anywhere but it was still fun entering :D
