Found a few here that look promising...

...like the idea of the Chilli Salsa Prawns one.

Any suggestions for tried and trusted recipes?

Thanks.

I'll see if the husband likes pets

I'm like a cat, just feed me and I'll take care of the rest.

Unlike a cat though, I won't **** in the neighbour's garden or attack your feet when you least expect it, and I'll contribute to the cost of my keep.

Just don't try to take me for that trip to the vets...

Only to be greeted by Mr Fizl who was "relaxing" on the settee ..

I'm keen on chicken and mushroom in white wine creamy sauce.

that and fizl's egg mayo are traditional favourites for a good reason

prawn "cocktail" works well too; but if they are too old school then cream cheese and (probably fake?) caviar are nice. As is a boursin style cheese and smoked salmon.

As a seasonal twist how about mincemeat to make miniature mince pies?

Homemade boursin recipe here: Boursin Cheese Homemade) Recipe - Food.com - 80675 or just buy it :)

I wish I could comment but these got scoffed (and loved) by the rellies before I got chance to sample one. :smashin:

Sounds so wrong, tastes sooo right. :smashin:

Aren't they a bit 70's these days :)
Yep, but done well, taste great.

Did Spudtator's sausage rolls again - highly recommended....
