Fizl posted one of her delicious recipes before and i fell into the trap of asking if i could come round and sample some .

that and fizl's egg mayo are traditional favourites for a good reason

prawn "cocktail" works well too; but if they are too old school then cream cheese and (probably fake?) caviar are nice. As is a boursin style cheese and smoked salmon.

As a seasonal twist how about mincemeat to make miniature mince pies?

I wish I could comment but these got scoffed (and loved) by the rellies before I got chance to sample one.

I did the egg mayo, balsamic onion and the smoked salmon and horseradish. All disappeared pretty pronto
