Any speakers around that can be used as tables (as well)?

A bit of a funny one, I suppose, but trying to integrate some decent-sized speakers into our family/sitting room just isn't going to work unless we can use them as little tables (for drinks, etc.) as well. Yet all the speakers have beautiful lacquer etc. that will be buggered straight away. Any ideas?

The alternative is to get some Quads (12 or 11s) and put an acrylic open box over the top of them... Crude...

A tablecloth? Coasters? Maybe a piece of glass cut to the right size? Most of these would stop the speakers getting buggered. Provided you don't spill the whole drink down the back or something.

Meridian M1500 / DSP 1500 subwoofers..... a sixteen inch black cube with a glass top!

And as an added extra, it shakes the room...

Thanks, Joe - that sub really cheered me up! Yes, I'm starting to think about adapting in-wall speakers. Are there any that will give decent (ie. not embarrassing) results?
