Been considering all kinds of options as a new monitor replacement (primarily PC use but occasional tv download viewing and games console use). Thought I had made up my mind on a Panasonic PW6 but the possible danger of screen from using it to surf the web all day and also low resolution have made me think again.

Seen e-tailers selling the Sony KLV-L23M1 for around £750 mark which seems extremely good value for a 23" screen imo.

Main question, does it support a PC input and also what's the quality like when using it to surf the web etc?

    Thanks.

I've had mine for about 3 weeks and I've never hooked it to a computer, but will in the near future. I like it because it is small and light. I think it weighs something like 32 pounds. I wanted a TV and I didn't really want to lug a 75 pound 20 inch around. I really love the picture. Although I've only seen cable with it, it really does have a nice picture. Can't wait until I can get an A/V signal from a satellite. It really shows DVD's well.

bigbob1941 - Thanks for the reply. Can you please confirm if it indeed does have a VGA PC input as the blurb on official Sony website doesn't mention that it does?

Cheekster - I have this TV and no it does not have a VGA socket. It's a stylish looking LCD (subjective) and has plenty of connection options i.e. Component, S-Vid, SCART etc. The PQ is served well by contrast, brightness and colour enhancements made by the WEGA engine; refresh rate however is not so good and therefore smoothness of motion is not as you would expect from a decent LCD. That said it can be lived with and is less distracting the further away from the screen you get. The bottom line for me was that you could not get an LCD like this for anywhere near under 1k 12 months ago and for the money (£700) it is great. If you want truly fantastic PQ on LCD I would look at Toshiba.. though whether you'll get anything of the quality I have seen on some Toshiba models for the price range of this LCD is probably unlikely... always worth looking into.

The Sony website is pants. It doesn't really give the information would would typically look for. In fact, one bonus on this LCD is that it is HDTV ready, something the Sony site does not market for this model which I think is bizzare. Again, for £700 you get a stylish LCD, plenty of connections, decent PQ, good sound, HDTV ready and good useability. Definately satisfied, as this is a second TV for me and will compliment a PJ for serious movie watching, so for it's purpose it's great.

digisocialist - Thanks for the info.

Perhaps it would have been too good to be true that this would meet my requirements especially for the excellent price that it can currently be picked up for?

Looks like it's back to the drawing board...

digisocialist - could you (or someone else) tell me how many RGB scart inputs the KLV-L23M1 has?
I'm thinking of getting one, and want to hook up my sony STB and Sony dvd player to it (both have RGB scart output and the dvd player also has s-video over scart output. Neither have component, sadly :( (RGB is better than s-video, right?))
As said, the Sony website is a bit pants and just states 2xScart.
