Any small Android phones expected?

A friend of mine needs a new phone following the demise of her small Samsung. She doesn’t want an iPhone mini (too expensive, doesn’t like Apple), but all of the current Android offerings are too big.p at 6” plus. She’d be happy with a 5.5 like the Pixel 4a at a push. She’d rather buy new/current as (apparently) lots of Android phones cease to have security updates etc after 3 years!

Anyone aware of an iPhone Mini competitor due from Android (maybe something came out at CES?) if something might appear in the next year, she might consider going used for a bit
