When The Matrix Reloaded DVD details were released many people were disapointed with it as it didn't compare to a lot of the more recent dvd released. Combined with the fact that the orginal Matrix DVD was excellent for the time, the new matrix dvd that was cancelled earlier in the year and the fact that Joel Silver has said he wants a better version of the Matrix out has caused much speculation that Warner will releases some type of 'special' edition of the DVD's in the future? Has anyone heard anything about this as i'm thinking of getting the R4 version of the Matrix but will wait if better version will be out in 6 months.

there bound to be a boxset next year with loads of extras and even more poor script and bad acting.

just remember that even with more extras and bad acting - you cant polish a turd!

The Wachowskis pulled the recent special edition of The Matrix at the last minute because they said, if we release a special edition, we want to do it properly. Rumours of content include an all-new transfer and DTS. Couldn't give you date, might be a long time. I have the Region 4 and will just sell that and buy any new releases as and when they come out.

Oh and Pearl Harbor is great fun too :D

No, I'm saying it's rumoured so possible, but not guaranteed.

I know what you're thinking though - Warner don't do DTS mixes ;) Well sometimes they do - the recent Robin Hood release is a prime example (even if it is out of sync).

Sorry Squirrel God i missed the word "rumoured" in your post. from a personal POV i doubt that warners will - if you look at the LIST price for reloaded (£26.99 :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: ) i think that warners will try and get every penny out of matrix fans for as little effort as possible. They know that people will buy it so why bother with a quality product?

Sorry feeling abit cynical this morning

You're spot on to be cynical, but consider that that's why the upcoming release doesn't have too many features. You just know that they're gonna re-release it and then re-re-release it and flog that cash cow for all it's worth :smoke:

    You're not wrong Squirrel!!

The thing is that i know from what i've read that Peter Jackson just loves DVD and wanted to give the best product he could to the fans (as most of us would agree LOTR:FOTR (extended) is the best DVD so far released. But i have no idea what the Wachowski brothers think of the format - so i dont know if they will give us quality or just some pi*s poor edition that will be replaced year on year - but i suspect its just a cash cow for warners to cover thier huge losses from last year.
