any quick way of converting loads of existing mp3s to 256 k atrac 3?!?

    Cause im using ss 3 and at the mo I am selecting for example an album of 15 songs put it in library, then going in and selecting the tracks and converting them and then having to recall up the tracks without knowing what tracks are which and recompile the album and then transfer...? anyone got any tips for quick easy ways to get existing mp3s on as 256 ?

    You'd be wasting your time.

    Encoding an mp3 in the first place involves chucking away a lot of the info in the original track - converting mp3 to atrac3+ won't restore that info.

    Just import the mp3s direct.

    yeah I thought, I think I got confused when reading people saying put it in 256kbs for best sound, but I suppose they mean from a CD you already own rather than an mp3 youve downloaded! Ooops. So changing lets say a 128kbps mp3 to attrac3 64kbps would that result in losing much noticeable quality??

    To be honest there's very little to choose between them - you'd be as well just to import the mp3s direct - the player can handle them!
