As I'm working Offshore I want to be able to handle lots of films from a HDD onto my iPad Rmini so I was looking at the Seagate 1tb which creates it's own Wifi network. If I buy this it will allow me to transfer films/documents etc so my iPad memory doesn't become fullly used up.

Has anyone got any experience with them and what sort of trasnfer speeds can you get?

Apparently you can download an App on the iPad which then communicates with the Seagate to download what you want.

I was also wondering if any other company supplies these HDD as it only seems to be Seagate?

I mostly have Western Digital in the house, it's a pity they don't have one out
