Any one else have trouble with the Duet charging the controller handset

I have just bought and installed a SB Duet.
I like the Duet but I seem to be having a bit of trouble with the power supply charging the controller handset.
I think that quite often it does not make proper contact with the connection pins in the charging dock.
When not in the dock the battery indicator seems to jump in a fairly arbitrary way for ¼ full to ¾ full to red-light.

It runs down very quickly and goes into the red.

Anyone else experience similar problems with SB Duet please.
