    Hi good2talk

I am new to satellite gear so I hope you don't mind me asking a few (may be very basic) questions.

Is it possible to record from this receiver by outputting to a PC or PRV? I am particularly interested in recording BBC HD. If you are already doing this perhaps you could explain how it's done.

What sort/size dish etc will I need (to access as much FTA HD material as possible)?

Did you consider any other STBs and, if you don't mind my asking, who supplied your receiver?

Apologies again for any obvious questions
    Amadeus

    Hi Amadeus

Yes, I have connected it via a DVD recorder and it records fine HD Channels. I am sure you can record into your PC with correct connection.

Astra 1 one and Astra 2 are the ones I am getting HD channels from so you need a 80cm dish with monoblock LNB or 2 separate LNBs with DisEcq switch.

I had Humax HDCI-2000 before I was not happy with the quality of SD channels (even though it was good with HD channels). I am fully satisfied with Topfield TF7700 it gives crisp clear images even the SD channels are improved. I bought it from Turbosat email address [email protected] if you wish to contact them.

Set up was so easy I did not even open the instruction manual. The menu is very user friendly.

    Good Luck!
