The only genuine new HD channel that has been confirmed is FX HD which will launch sometime this year, others have been mentioned but nothing concrete so pointless you buy HD on the strength of what is rumoured:)

That said for £149 and if you have a HD display it's a good deal even if you are only on the mixes since the HD sub includes the SKY+ service.

    What £149 deal?

I have Sky HD and Sky + and pay Sky £63.50 pm and have been with them since before they had subscriptions aeons ago.

My Sky + cannot get Anytime, is failing, has a small HDD and I wanted to upgrade to a Sky HD box as I may get a second HD TV soon (and in the meantime the SD PQ is good enough to make the extra worth it).

I read elsewhere that people were getting Sky HD offered (even as multiroom) for £149 and no installation...unsurprising as it is simply a box swap if you have Sky + as I do.

So I called Sky and was told flat out that I was not a good enough customer (17 years with them and paying £800 per year) to qualify for any deals. It was full price AND £65 to install.

I am so furious that I am seriously now thinking of telling Sky where to put that £800 per year.

Is there another way to get a Sky HD box for £149???

Eurosport announced a pan-European HD service last year but so far nothing so it's a stretch to assume a UK (via SKY HD) service is going to appear any time soon.
MTV have a HD service in the US and that for some means a UK service is on the horizon.

FX is the only broadcaster who have gone on record and stated a UK HD service is on the way and they have only gone so far as to say this year.

There are HD subscribers now complaining over the lack of HD channels as they believed there would many coming after it launched last May, it's not good for HD or the customers themselves to buy into HD on the back of rumoured and speculated HD offerings and then being disappointed.

Thanks for this, but this seems to require paying a second £10 pm to Sky as well.

I do not think you can get this price if you already have HD and just want an HD box for multiroom.

But I will look at that thread again.

It's replacing Prem Plus HD which time shares with Sky Box office HD. I'd immagine it'll be an overspillchannel for use when there are more than 2 HD sports events on at the same time.

Also I wonder if Prem Plus will be the new Sky Sports Channel ! or they'll be shuffeld around so 404 is sky sports 4 and 480 is sky sports xtra.
