Any insurers offer NCB for named drivers?

Family member is a named driver in a motor insurance policy for 3 years. She is 34 and thought best to get her own policy. She passed her test 3 years ago. Does any insurers offer NCB for named drivers or does she has to start from nil NCB?

Direct Line for one.....they do add that any NCD gained on their policies may not be recognised by another company.

Suits us fine as they've always price-matched pretty well.

Churchill also offer NCB for named drivers. However, not sure if its transferable to other drivers or not. The other I would recommend is Direct Line. Either of these are usually the cheapest for me.

I don't think you can get "retrospect" NCB for being a named driver for the past 3 years.
What I mean is, if it was a brand new policy with say Direct Line and she was a named driver, then yes, she could gain NCB.

However I doubt very much if you could go and get a policy now and claim that the person has 3yrs NCB.
There would be no proof of this and insurance company's tend not to just "accept your word".

True....my comments applied to new additions of named drivers, who then gain NCD as the owner would.
