I bought a pair of used SD acoustics speakers about 5 years ago-hardly used them as too big for the house! Now in a summer/party house with marantz pm66SE and sony cdp 991. Does anyone have any info on these speakers eg reviews on a website etc. Don't know what model they are but they look like serious kit. Do you think they will be ok with above amp and cdp (tried using a small receiver and speakers distorted on higher volume-amp probably too small??). Thanks for any info.

    Hi,
Unfortunately as SD Acoustics no longer exist there is not a lot of info on the net,
Here are a couple of links:
    http://www.tnt-audio.com/intervis/sde.html
    http://www.audioreview.com/mfr/sd-acoustics/floorstanding-speakers/PRD_120539_1594crx.aspx

I believe they made some very good speakers, from bookshelf designs to large floorstanding models (SD1 were the biggest and most expensive with smaller designs having progressively higher model numbers).
I think they started out using Morel drive units but later models changed to Dynaudio units and Ribbon tweeters (all quality parts).
    I hope this helps,

    Paul.
