Question Any idea what this is?

I have a Samsung QLED 49 inch which is 3 year old and has something similar, I’m thinking of stripping it down to have a look.
Also 2 dark patches in the bottom corners, definitely not right

Interesting!

the strangest part is that it flickers on and off randomly.. and if I apply some light pressure to the area it seems to flicker off a bit more.

it also isn’t as visible with a max backlight so HDR content is fine 🤷🏻‍♂️
I’d strip it down but it’s a 65” and I can’t deal with that hassle

Are these Edge lit displays?...If so looks like there could be an issue with some of the lighting.

Yup! Edge lit KS8000.

Is there anything you can do about that? Gently tapping/rubbing the screen seems to make it flicker away for a while but that’s all 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm no engineer but I suspect you can't sort this yourself. It could be a warranty claim, unless it falls under Samsungs wear and tear criteria.
