Any good deals for upgrader. (what same package but cheapr!!)

Hi I remeber about 1.5 years ago when tey took Sky One etc off us, everyone phoned up and got good deals.

I have V+, BB 2Mb, Phone W/ends. I'm out of the 12months so ready to phone up again.

Whats the excuse this time I can use for cheaper package

I'm happy with package Im on V+, XL, BB 2Mb, Phone W/ends, I defo dont want to pay anymore and prefer to have them make it cheaper, or at least upgrade something for nothing.

Any ideas please? anyone done it recently? what deals? whats stuff to compare against? whats should I ask for

I did just this, my 12 months finished so I called up Virgin and said I wanted to review my package to ensure I was getting the best deal.
I now have L Broadband (10 meg) XL TV and L Phone for £37.75 per month and I agreed to another 12 months service. Basically, from the package I was previously on, I got an upgrade to L BB for free so I am quite pleased.

I'm happy with my package, but I feel that 2Mb Broadband is a bit low these days when phone line broadband services are offering 'up to' 8Mb for less than Virgin charge. Any idea how to persuade them to move me up to L without the extra charge? I really think it is time for Virgin to drop the 2Mb service anyway.

I think this is in the pipline mike but nothing has been said for definate.

As regards the post. Just simply ring up relations 0800 052 0870 and say that you're looking at a sky package for a similar set up. I think it works out to be £37 pm for 'up to' 8Mbps BB. But say that you've been told you'll get a speed of about 7 meg. I'm sure they'll give you a free upgrade. You can always just say that you have a mate 'alistair' (don't need to give any details of ur 'mate') that has just got that same package (L TEL - XL DTV - L BB @ £37.75)

I'm sure they'll do u a deal! If not say u wanna canx and then there'll go to they're 'last resort' package!

Comes to £42.75. TBH Im happy with what I got, but the V+ fee of £10 a month for example is a bit of a pain, I heard you can get this free now, if you pay a up front of £75? over 12months this will work out cheaper.

Not sure what they'll do for me though regarding the loyalty discount I already get of -£20 a month though.

Is this a good deal Im already getting? should I ask for more?

What did you say to get that deal? did you mention a specific deal from Sky to them? I only get M BB, so interested in this.

What about the V+ fee? do you still pay that? did you have to pay any upfront fees, I heard you can pay £75 upfront.

Not had a bill yet so not sure. I just called up and said that I was offered a sky+ box for free. Then I bartered until they offered the package. The V+ box was £99, I bartered down to £75, then £69, then £60...then she called me a cheeky bugger! Maybe I charmed her!

V+ being installed on Saturday morning so I'm sure it will also cost me a brew and some toast!
