Any Ford Puma owners on here?

I'm considering buying a Ford Puma, probably a 2000 model 1.7 of course! Just wondered what the rear visibility is like on these? I haven't driven for about 6 years (had to get a mortgage) but I want to start driving again. I think I'll be a bit rusty so I don't want to make the mistake of buying a car then realising it's not that easy to park! I've owned Fiestas and Escorts in the past but don't know anyone who has owned a Puma.

I'm probably going to look at one tomorrow but just wondered if anyone has any views, good or bad.

My wife used to own one - rear visibility isn't great (for her at 5'2" or for me at 6'2". However the fact that they are such a great drive more than makes up for it !

It's probably worth having a test drive to see for yourself, but they are great cars!

Thanks. Well I'm in between (5 ft 6) so might be just right for me. Hopefully I'll get a test drive tomorrow then I can see for myself. Don't think my boyfriend will be wanting to drive it, he thinks it's a hairdressers car and refers to it as a pussy! :rotfl:

Yes, I agree it is a bit of a girls car but then I am a girl! No offence to any male forum members who own one though! :D

The puma is a great drive and i've owned mine nearly 5 years now, there are a few issues mind and that concerns the brakes and also rear visibility but they are easily overcome with a bit of experiance.
Have a look on www.pumapeople.com you'll find plenty of advice on there.

I loved mine, but had to get rid of it for money reasons (and that i had done 100,000 miles in it).

I loved every second in it.
The visiblity is crap , but who cares, as it is so much fun to throw round corners and accelerate past anything less than a 2.2L.

Buy one, or if you can afford it get a FRP.

My girlfriend used to own a Puma, not a bad car at all !! Really easy to drive, light clutch and steering, and whilst by no means a fast car it is good fun to pootle about in :)

Top 15.

The Puma is a superb car. Its not that quick, but probably quick enough for most, but it handles like a dream.
