Any disadvantages to.......

    using a can of air to blow dust off the lens of my HW10 now and again instead of using the lens cover? its just a pain taking it on/off and knocking the focus out all the time.

    I did see that post but the thought of an ice cream lid on my lovely HW10 doesnt go well, plus I dont do Haagen Dazs:)

    I'd have thought that if I use a can of compressed air say once a week just to give it a quick blast it should be fine as long as the air is chemical free.

    I use a camera lens cloth which works fine.

    Seriously never ever use compressed air near a projector. Even with so called sealed optics you run the very real risk of forcing dust where you really don't want it. Dust blob city, I learnt the hard way.

    If you are going to use a can of compressed air, be sure to squirt some away from the PJ before going for the lens and not to drain the very last from the can. In both cases water formed by condensation could really ruin your day.
