Any colour as long as its.....silver!!

Is it just me or is there any one else out there heartily sick of being offered both CRT and RP tellies only in the most nauseous silver finishes imaginable. As the lights are dimmed and the film rolls, who wants to see the bloody TV winking back at them out of the darkness.

Most AV gear is available in either silver or black, why not TV's

I'm with you on that one Uncle.
On a more technical note, the colour of the screen surround will affect your perception of the colours on the screen. A neutral gray would be best, just like tellys were until about four years ago.

totally agree - the best colour i've ever seen was the older sony wega's - a darker greyish silver - still looked modern, but blended nicely with everything

Some companies do offer an alternative colour, I have seen one of the Philips TV in black, I also have a black Loewe myself.
You don’t silver at the side of the screen at the pictures.
