    Hi there,

I own a pair of Cambridge Audio R50 Loudspeakers and am looking to replace the mid, upper mid and tweeter to put some much needed life back into the top end - they still have all their original drivers & crossover, dating back to 1976 or thereabouts.

The Bass drivers (Kef B139) are to be kept, but i would be grateful if anybody could suggest some cost effective replacements for the aformentioned drivers.

For those unfamiliar with the speakers, they have 4 drivers mounted in a 1.5 m high transmission line cab , 8 Ohms (Nominal)25 watts RMS.

I have no test equipment so crossover tweaking is not really possible. I have heard of people blocking up the Upper mid port and replacing the tweeter & lower mid with modern drivers to good effect but have no idear of the drivers they used or any crossover tweaks they did.

Any suggestions would be much apreciated.

    Thanks for your time.
