    Hey all,
I am about to buy a new setup.

    Denon 2105 Amp
    Epos ELS3 5.1
A panny 32"... not sure which one yet.

Just wanted to know what are the best cable type to use for connecting my xbox up.

So Im guessing optical is the best for 5.1 But I am not sure on video.

I have seen a (what I think gd) site. http://www.monstercable.com/monstergame/xbox/

Could I get a little help on this please
    Thanks
    Tob3z

if the t.v. you get supports component connections, they purchase the official MS Hidef kit from www.dvdboxxoffice.com or www.lik-sang.com (search of forums will pickup more details on this product)

Third party ones have mixed reports, I use a third party one and picture is fine

    regards

I use the MS scart cable with optical to the processor, and when playing in serious mode I use the component to the projector, But not sure about getting the 5.1 that way though. :(

MS hidef kit supports optical digital audio, some of the third party ones do also - The monster one linked to only has stereo audio via phono leads

Hi Tob3z, the GameLink™ 400 X Component Video with Analog Audio, only has the red-white phono for analogue stereo (looking at the picture) but as you mentioned it does have a digital output jack, so you can connect a optical digital cable to it - will read specs next time :smashin:

The MS one is still the one to go for by all accounts :)

    cheers

the original two links are were to get it from - it's not available in the uk due to the UK PAL Xbox'x not being enabled for hi-def/component etc.

Either Cananda (dvdboxoffice) or asia(?) lik-sang.com are the two places most people have used

can't find item on dvdboxoffice for some reason, but lik-sang is here http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=53&products_id=1742&

    regards

Non-offical ones dont do progressive scan correctly but the offical one doesn't work until you turn the XBox to NTSC.

Now on my crap ass 20" when I switch to NTSC it looks a bit blured. This wont happen with a sweet ass PD50 will it?

edit:: Just to lear things up how will I connect this then.

    Optical audio output to amp
    and Component to amp

is that right. Is component audio or video. If its audio then I guess its scart to tv.

Just did a search to see if the monster cable was worth the extra... Someone here does not seem to think so... I will be going for the MS version I think.

Does this mean my Xbox will have issues playing standard DVD's ? If I run in NTSC or is it just the output format... My Xbox is modded so that side is ok...
