There have been many of these tales around recently and unfortunately I too must join the ranks of the seriously frustrated. Is it me or do these problems develop once the warranty has elapsed?! Mine was two months over the date! The cynic in me would say that as they can download all sorts of updates, then surely it wouldn't be too hard to download a bug or two that knackers your system?! Forcing you to buy a new model. Last Friday all my planner was wiped and I wasn't allowed to record a thing, nor could I enter any 'red dot' interactive features. Still at least I had the channels! Called Sky and went through the usual housekeeping only to find that nothing worked after!!! Chap said simply that the box was knackered and all he could offer was a bit of sympathy and the usual repair man or new box! I wasn't prepared to pay for either. Fortunately the next day after leaving it switched off I got the channels back but still no recording facility which is a as we use it all the time. So I was wondering what my options are:- 1. Has anyone else had this same problem and managed to fix it? 2. Could this simply be the hard drive? In which case by replacing it with a larger one (as per instructions on the Hummer Site) everything would be back to normal? 3. Maybe a stupid question but how do you know if your box is a v1 or v2? 4. How much do these Hard Drives go for? As I've still got the channels (for now at least) I suppose I could always get a seperate recorder but this isn't ideal as i've limited space under the TV. 5. Are any of them slimline? 6. Are they more reliable than the Sky+ system? (Shouldn't be hard) Any assistance would be appreciated and feel free to throw in anymore suggestions.
