I've just picked up a set of 5 Monitor Audio Mass speakers for our little tv room. The sofa is against the rear wall and can't come any further forward. Currently the test speakers are hung by string and placed on a lamp a few feet above the sofa. I'm not going to get atmos speakers past the wife so 5.1 is all I can get in here.
I understand that the height is usually 2-3 feet above ear height for 5.1 and with a low ceiling, that's almost up at ceiling height. Question is, should the speakers just fire left to right, effectively at the level of the speakers (as the test speakers are currently or should they angle downwards towards the listeners? The brackets allow either position and can be wall or ceiling mounted.
Thanks.
