Another one... NAS Help.

Sorry for more threads, i've been searching all day and cant come to a decision. Would someone be able to recommend a NAS based on my requirements.

- The ability to stream media to my PS3 and watch movies (UPNP/DLNA?). I do have some Blu Ray rips but they are the 'downgraded versions' (ie, no bigger than 4GB so PS3 can read them?)

- The ability to backup via time machine on OSX

- Only one 1TB drive is needed, the data on the drive wont be soul destroying if lost.

- USB port, so i can backup data to my portable hard drive.

- QUIET, it's going to be under my TV.

- Eco friendly, scheduled power downs and auto powering down when not in use would be great.

--extras i wouldn't mind but not needed:
-bit torrent downloader
-itunes server
-small and would be great if it was flat but obv not needed.

thanks

you are describing my Bufallo Linkstation. 1TB, by the TV. I use to stream to my 360 and ps3. All of my music is stored there and I use Itunes.

Best feature is the bit torrent client. It has USB port, but I rarely use it.

Not sure about the time machine thing.

It is also very cheap compared to the chasis drives that you then have to add the HDD to.

My main use is torrents and then streaming films, including large files, though I usually watch them on PC as ps3 and 360 are limited in what formats they can read. The menus are very easy to browse using the ps3 and 360.

Sorry. forgot to add. It is quiet when using to stream etc. But you can hear it when torrents are downloading sometimes.
