Another excited PW7 owner - well nearly!

Finally decided on the PW7 from av sales with media box offer.
Just to irresistable. The screen arrives thursday with denon DHT 500 home cinema system, Scart to VGA for sky and component for DVD. I cannot wait a moment longer, and im driving the girlfriend mental talking about it.
Thursday is taken as annual leave from work, so all's good baby.

I have to say that if i had never come across this forum there is no doubt in my mind i would be a very dissapointed Samsung owner as i very nearly went down the curry's route of buying an over priced, underpowered plasma. Thankfully i decided to price check before buying and came across this forum.

Friendly, honest advice is exactly what was needed as i am new to this technology. So a big ThanQ to all have helped me in my decision.

Sell the media box on ebay and buy input boards! I guess all you'll need is the component board!

I think all those people flogging the media boxes should form a pact
on ebay and stick to a set price for the item, so we all dont end up
cutting each others throats...

mine arrives friday!!! and my bird is in the similar situation to yours, getting her ears melted with my excitement!! seeing as everyone is slagging off the media box, what do i need to order to make it better??? am i being a complete fool here??

gunizzle what you doing for sound? simplest would be a pio 402 AV amp and RGB scarts for all 3 and onto a JS RGB>VGA converter (lots of other options tho use media box use another AV amp with component for Xbox and DVD etc see here http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=161811

I order yesterday and they told me i couldnt get del till next week - Gutted!

Im not sure yet about sound, i really need a new sound system and was gonna go to a local specialists as really i have about as much technical knowledge on all of this as that geezer in Little Britain in the wheelchair!!!

my girl is getting excited aswell. shes invited friends over for movie night already!!
i just know im gonna end up watching The OC 24/7, theres gonna have to be some ground rules but won't mention that just yet.
I will be going down the ebay route i guess for the media box. £250 seems quite alot but hey if it sells for that then fantastic. could do with the money!

i basically using sky, dvd and xbox
Sky - scart to VGA from av sales (£80 1.5m)
Xbox through sky box for now
DVD component route which is why i went for the Denon 500. Heard it in comet and it was a nice bit of kit, and comes multiregion. nice size also. Managed to get on the net at £400 delivered (promised by thursday)

Think that was the best setup i could get to start with. i ended up going a bit over budget but hey thats life
