Another DFR9000

Hi there,

I recently emailed Philips to ask them on UK release dates for some products, and they've replied, saying the DFR9000 was released in April this year. Yet why cannot I find anywhere in the UK that sells the DFR9000?

Does anyone have a link?

Also, can any owners confirm if it's 5.1 or 6.1 surround, and recommend what speaker to use use with it.

Thanks very much/...

How about this one:

It's in fact 6.1 output (7.1 input possibility!). If you want full output power then use 4 Ohm speakers. But 8 Ohm in most rooms do the job as well.
Its worth to use very good speakers on L+R, as the sound quality of the DFR9000 is superb. Of course depending upon your requirements you match the other speakers, if you want also to use DVD-A or SACD it pays off to also have high quality speakers on Ls+Rs.
Subwoofer is (if you use HQ speakers!) mainly interesting to have better low frequency effects in movies, etc. You can adjust this channel separately.

Agree it's availability totally sucks, I do not know if this is a ploy by Philips to keep the price high
