Annoying Echo

I used to have a Sony CRT but have recently upgraded to a Panny 42PV500, i like to have the sound coming from my TV and my Sony DAVS 880 surround system. However, this is not really possible as there is a slight delay in the sound from the TV so you have an echo.

Does anybody know how i can fix this problem.

Cheers

Dan

Lip-sync! What you are hearing is the difference in the lip-sync correction on the PV500 versus the direct sound via the 880 system. Why do you need to listen to both sound systems?

I see, I dont need to listen to both its just a tad awkward having to always turn the volume up on one and then turn it down on the other and visa versa when switching back.

I used to just leave them both on but now that is not possible.

One of the joys of a plasma! There are heaps of plus points with plasma, this is just one of the downers. Turn the sound off on the plasma and use the Sony 880 for audio.

Not just plasmas ! I have a very old (14 years !) Toshiba CRT and a Bose S/S system and I have to have the TV muted to avoid the echo....
