Obviously I wasn’t counting Disney. They’re on their own level. Outside that, ironically, Wick was probably up there for me.

In these days of Truthiness does it matter what you said? Or what I read? ;)

I think that and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood will close out the summer very nicely indeed.

Who’d have thought a film that only 4 people have seen would’ve garnered so much discussion!

That's one thing I like about this Forum; discussions sometimes stay right on track, other times go wandering off in all sorts of directions!
      To paraphrase Forrest Gump:-
“This Forum is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get.”

Oh my word, there's something so sexy about a woman that can kick arse!

Mind you, they would absolutely be in charge at all times and win every argument, so maybe the fantasy is better than the reality.

Completely unrelated, but I remember being in a supermarket and hearing this SCREAMING child from off in the distance, even drowning out Asda FM! As it got louder and closer, I could see a tiny woman pushing it in a buggy with a face like absolute thunder, even the huge, burly security guards were nervously keeping their distance in case they set her off!:D

Reminds me of Carla Tortelli from Cheers, as they repeated the episode with Woody’s wedding on channel 4 the other day when she got so miffed with Sam that she scared the guard dogs

A far more menacing performance than anything I saw from Sasha Luss in Anna

Hey c'mon Cas...no mention of AngelA, Subway, The Big Blue, Unleashed, District 13, or indeed The Family, which was a very enjoyable romp with loads of fun in it. The scene with a pissed off Michelle Pfeiffer in the supermarket was hilarious.
I haven't seen this yet but judging by the comments its not gonna win any Oscars, maybe a Raspberry award though.
Lets hope he finds a way back to return to form. God knows there's enough really good books out there for material.

Hmmm, haven't seen Angel A for years, always thought Subway was a little below par, I mentioned The Big Blue in my opening sentence and I didn't find The Family strong enough to deserve a mention amidst his classics (the De Niro / Besson combo should have been better than this).

The others you noted he didn't actually direct, and unfortunately fall into the pot with dozens of films that he wrote the same script for and changed the character names on.

Yes, I hope he finds his way back, but, at this stage - after trying a big sci-fi blockbuster and a small-scale action-thriller, and failing on both counts - I can't really see how he's going to do it.

Watched this the other night and did not think it was bad at all!

I quite enjoyed it, some good action and a decent (if slightly predictable) plot.

      a solid 7.2/10 for me
