Silly thought but would it be possible to make a frame by frame animation similar to an animated gif that could "play" while the remote was performing something like a macro sequence?

Its possible by having a sequence of several screens and then jumping between those screens , but
    a) its probably going take up a lot of memory

    b) not going to look very smooth , just imagine what it looks like when you go from your tv setup to your dvd setup, slight pause, blank screen , then you see the next screen

    but you it possible

    I'd code it something like
    jmp - screen a
    delay 0.1
    jmp - screen b
    delay 0.1
    etc...
