    Hi,

A couple of quickies, for all you animation fans!

    1) There's a new Japanese animation/manga magazine, available from tomorrow - Thursday 25th November - called "Neo". It's £3-50 per issue, and should be available from most half-decent newsagents. Their website is at:

    http://www.neomag.co.uk

    2) Channel 4 want you to vote for the 100 Greatest Cartoons Ever. Their website, and the voting details, are... here!

Make sure you vote, and let's hope they change the title to "100 Greatest Animations Ever"! Cartoons is the wrong word here!

    Hi,

Gary - if you vote for ten animations in the C4 poll, you are also given the option thereafter, to add another 5 titles of your own. That's why it's worth voting, as the list can still be changed if enough people request a particular animation show/film!

Also, there's an International Manga and Anime Festival in London, in the middle of December 2004. It's free entry, and they will be showing plenty of new and unseen material. Details can be found at their website. :) Fuller details of what will be shown, and when, should go up later on today, or tomorrow. Also, Manga artist Kazuo Koike (of "Lone Wolf And Cub" fame) will be in attendance. Go look at the site... now! Oh, and you might find my name on a few of the posts in their forum too. ;)

Not a bad list, all things considered. It's the shame the Simpsons has a lock on the top spot. (even though the show is unwatchable nowadays) I'm just glad they listed the original 60s Spider-man cartoon!

    Notable absences:
    The Tick
    Home Movies
    Invader Zim
    The Mighty Hercules

Here's hoping PoochJD posts the results for those of us who don't watch Channel 4.

Christ, I used to love The Tick!

    My five "missing" picks were:

    Ghost in the Shell
    Ninja Scroll
    The Animatrix
    My Neighbour Tortoro
    Fist of the North Star

And the ones that just missed out:

    Metropolis
    Gundam
    Ulysees 31

    South Park (from 1997)
    Danger Mouse (1981-87, 1991-92)
    Roobarb (1974)
    Noggin the Nog (1959-1965, 1982)
    Family Guy (1999-2000)

Why not put a bigger list the list they provide may not be you favorites yet you are forced to vote for 5 of them, also notice a lot are extremely recent such as Shark Tale (2004) The Incredibles (2004) and The Polar Express (2004) I can see people coming out of the pictures and seeing the poll and voting for them yet a year down the road with think old favorites better.

    Some I may add are.

    X-Men (1992)
    Justice League (2001)
    Batman (1992)
The Fantastic Four, (1994) second series
    Spider-Man (1994)
