This game is a lotta fun, me and my housemate have been playing it a lot over the week, although the bugger gets to play at lunchtimes so buys all the shop stuff and digs all the buried treasure up before I get home! Grrrrrr :p

I was wondering if anyone knew any good places to get some codes. I am specifically trying to find a code for cherries, so I can get some different fruit other than pears.

Not really interested in too much else as I am trying not to spoil it.

There's quite a lot of trading going on at the Edge forum:

    http://forum.edge-online.com/

specifically, the 'Import gaming - Animal Crossing trading thread'.

    You could also check out:

    http://www.actradestation.co.uk/

as there's lots of trading there too.

Usually you'll need to offer something in return - Iwould send you cherries but I don't have any as my native fruit is also pears...
    doh!

I was thinking about getting this game but if it reduces players to Internet Fruit Traders then forget it!!:D

It is well worth getting, tbh, I have played this far more than metroid so far. Mind you it is not a game that really lends itself to all day playing, it is a nice game if you want to pick it up for an hour and potter about.

Although, you may find it difficult to do so, if you have others in your house who are content on hogging it. Actually, got a little peed off with my housemate last night that I made him make me tea for spoiling my game :p

I'm assuming its a cartoony, japanese, cutesy sims type thing. is that a fair description? Metroid gets better and better got to the research centre in the Phlanndra Drifts last night and this weird music kicked in and scared the life out of me, very tense!!

Kind of, although that would unfairly dismiss it.

It is one of those games you have to play, you will wonder how you will be reduced from muscle rippling uber fraglord to a person who starts sending mails to overgrown monkeys who can't read them.

I wasn't dismissing it... actually that sounds like a great 'escapist' title... although Resi Evil Zero and SMB2 are next on the list so it will have to wait a while.

Yeah AC is really great. Its a bit frustrating waiting for things to happen but its just so different to anything I have ever played before. It's great fun though if you just want something to play for 10 minutes waiting for something to come on the TV. But at the same time you could easily sit there overnight playing it (and I have!)

    Heehee,

it is funny when you get home to check your mails, and it is your AC mail you are talking about :)

It it a nice title to potter about in, I logged into it, got my mails, paid off some debts, had a chat with some villagers, posted some mail and then caught a few fish for the museum. About 45mins of this and that.

Then I loaded up Metroid and resumed the fight....... killed that big plant with the sun reflectors, that boss is pretty annoying until you figure out how to do it!

v quick finger taps and ultra fast auto-locking!:D metroid is certainly one of the bigger cube games I've played so far, I'm about 15-17% through and I've already been at it for five hours.

That boss is actually easier than some of the main bad guys later on!

Agreed. The third last boss is the hardest IMO.

i was talking about the space pirates and metroids, which aren't even bosses, they take a lot of firepower to put down.

Metroid sounds very cool...gonna wait for the PAL release though (£30...how could I refuse? :))

Anyway back to AC. The last 2 days for me have been great. I've now got 4 rare fruits as well as my native fruit (oranges) so I can pretty much make a fortune just from selling fruit to Tom :) Then when you throw in the 3000 bell pricetag of the fish that I've been catching in the sea...well.

He's upgrading his shop today so muchos spending tonight (I've got about 20000 bells now and I plan to sell a lot of old junk that I don't need.) Now...only 100,000 bells left on my mortgage. Ouch.

this sounds like the gaming equivalent of reality TV, living a virtual life. I don't have a 'real' mortage yet, and I'm not sure I want a virtual one either.:D

Yes, it does feel like virtual life especially when you spend 2 days building up a fortune of 37,000 then stupid Ace the duck takes it all off you because you lose an arm wrestle. Grrrrrr, nearly threw my controller at the TV...... was not a happy chappy :(

My turnip fund gone for the week..... sob sob

Never had a problem like that but I got pretty annoyed playing it this morning.

I was planting some fruit trees (because I am a good person and not because I wanted to sell peaches to Tom for 500 bells ;))

So I chopped down a few old trees to make way for the new ones - suddenly a swarm of bees came after me and stung me  :(
About 2 minutes later it happened again! My face was all swollen and 'lumpy' and someone said it would last all month!
I got so annoyed I just turned the bugger off without saving. Went back to it later on though and won the raffle  Came 3rd and won an ivory piano
