Anyone know why Angel Season 3 is so much shorter than season 2.

    Season 2 - 1076 minutes (22 episodes)
    Season 3 - 917 minutes (23 episodes)

Anyway thats the times stated on the boxes, I haven't actually put a stopwatch on them but over two and a half hours difference seems an awful lot.

I dont know for sure but, is there the little bit at the begining of each episode "last time on angel" if that is present on series 2 but not series 3 then that would clock up a fair bit of time.

Or if there are less interviews in the special features then that could be it. Not sure if that would be in the running time though.

Series 3 episodes are only about 42 minutes long (including the 'Previously on...' bit. Are the series 2 episodes longer?

Guess this would add up to about an hour if s2 were 45 minutes each?

    This is a strange one!

According to play the run time is 16 hours and 30 minutes (990 minutes) Don't know if that includes the extras though.

Also there are 22 episodes in Angel Season 3 not 23.

Had a look at the VHS box sets and the total run time for Angel Season 3 is 914 minutes.

If the VHS box is 914 and the DVD is 940, its got to be down to features?

Also if my adding up is correct the VHS box set run time for Angel season 2 is 913 minutes.

Yes, sorry it is 22 episodes, the box insert had one title split into two.

Both boxes do say 'total feature runtime' which I took to mean not including the extras but I could be wrong about that or the time stated could just be wrong; it wouldn't be the first time.

My worry of course was that there may have been cuts but as they haven't done it before I guess that's not likely.
