Has anyone got the R1 releases of Andromeda ? I got the first R2 set but was really annoyed that it wasnt in widescreen and only had a DD 2 channel soundtrack - Surely it was made with a 5.1 soundtrack? Wheres a good + Cheap place to get the R1's?
I believe it was made in DD2.0 The discs (R1/R2/R4) do contain the some Surround if you put the decoder in surround mode. Andromeda was filmed in widescreen, the R2/R4 discs are 4:3 Pan&Scan. I can confirm that the R1 discs are anamorphic widescreen. R1 also has more extras than R2/R4 DVD Soon seem to be the cheapest for the R1 set.
Thanks After getting the Farscape boxsets with the awesome DD 5.1 sound on them i was very disapointed with the andromeda sound. I'll check out dvdsoon - how good are they ? and are they customs friendly?
