    Hi

Just had my Pace V1 refurb swapped for what I believe to be a refurb amstrad V2. No problems with this except that there is an intermittant high pitch hum. It sounds to me like an RF type noise. I dont think it is the HD as the noise is there even when not recording or in playback. Also I dont think it is the fan as I cant feel any airflow from the vents. Also I would imagine the fan would sound similar to that on my laptop.

The nose seems to be worse when there is a lot of graphics on screen i.e Sky Sports News or when there is a lot of white or brightness.

I had similar issues with Sony widescreen TV's which is covered in the TV forum and eventually after 4 Sonys I got a Loewe.

Can anyone confirm if this is standard for an Amstrad or should it be near silent. My Pace V1 was absolutely quiet. Are Pace V2s quiet?

    Response wil be appreciated

My Pace v2 doesn't make a noise other than the fan.

    Ste.

I have an Amstrad V2 but I cannot hear any kind of humming or buzzing as you describe. To me it's just like my old digital system I had previously.

I had a high pitch noise on my launch v1 Sky+ box.
Engineers came, "Ah.....noisey box" and swapped it.
