    Hi,

just bought a pioneer dv545 and am now looking for a bit of advice regarding amps and speakers. Can anyone recommend a good amp, preferably as part of a speaker package

My budget is around the £350 - £400 mark

Anyone seen reviews of the pioneer VSX-C300-S as i see it kinda matches my new player.

    cheers folks

    Hairy

    Hi,

350-400 pounds for speakers AND amp will be tuff to do.
Best idea is to buy an all in one set. But you already have a DVD player.
How much is that Pioneer amp?
Pioneer has pretty good budget selection, but having a Pioneer DVD doesn't mean you must buy a Pioneer AMP. Shop around.

If you want to do it right...upgrade slowly. One piece at a time.
If you have 4 speakers, you only need to use the your budget on a amp and a centerspeaker. Eventually you can upgrade your 2 frontspeakers.Step by step you can buy a good setup this way.

Otherwise do the all in one deal. Buy an older higher end model that's on sale. These models have such a high turnaround that the technology is not that different between a new or older model.
