I'm shortly going to receive a Panasonic 37PE30 Viera plasma TV and need a good amp/receiver + speaker package to go with it. I already have a DVD player so just need something that sounds great. It will only be used for the TV and nothing else. I've heard a lot about KEF eggs and was looking at them but not sure about price of them.

Ideally I am looking to spend £400-500 maximum. What are your thoughts???

Is your budget just for speakers, or for both amp & speakers?

The official price of the Kef eggs is £799, but Hi Spek do them for £599. Remember that you can only buy Kef products through store NOT on the internet anywhere in this country (at least not officially anyway).

The Kef KHT 1005's (baby brother of the eggs) however cost £299 from Hi Spek and may suit your budget more.

Ok so what do I go for...?? I've heard the Aego P5 system is pretty good but also considering the Yamaha AV50 pack (RXV350 + NSP100 speakers). I have a DVD player already and an NTL box and will be using the system for the Panasonic Viera only...so come on..give me some advice experts....looking to spend max of £400 in total for speakers and receiver.

Thoughts on the Denon AVR1905. How would I connect my NTL box through the amp so that I can get sound and picture???
