Hello All, Having decided to get a surround set-up I am currently facing the great dilemma: Quality (for Me) Vs. Looks (For the girlfriend) Vs. Cost (for the Bank Manager!) Initially I was going to get the Videologic Digitheatre DTS system (which receives good reviews everywhere) but am now thinking that I can get a better looking, better sounding system for a little more money. I will use this system as much for music as movies. Currently I am considering the following: Amp PIONEER VSXC300S (has anyone tried this amp?) £245 (QED) Sony STRDE875 £200 (Richer) Speakers ARC SONARE NXT 5.1 SPK SYSTEM £158 (QED) ELTAX STARGATE X.1 £109 (QED) Will these or any other components at similar price points sound better than the DTS Theatre? Any other suggestions will be gratefully received - I love the minimal look of amps and don't need all the bells and whistles such as Radio / Simulated Surround / Inputs for everything under the sun / fancy LCD etc. This is difficult to find on a budget - which appears daft as all those extra features cost ££ meaning less of the final price is spent on the actual audio quality, even more important on a £250 Amp than a £1500 one. Any help greatly appreciated, Thanks. Chris.
