    Hi,

I'm soon to be the owner of the sagem hd 45" beast and i'm now looking for good quality (but not too expensive) amp + speakers to go with it.. and probably a new dvd player. I hope someone can help as i'm new to all this.

The main thing that is confusing me is HD/HDMI..and anything else with HD in it. So here are a few questions for the experts:

    1. Do i need HDMI on my amp? If so am i looking at a lot of extra cost + is that extra cost worth it?

    2. Do i need hdmi on my dvd player? Again if theres extra cost, is it worth it?

    3. If yes to either 1 or 2 can anyone recommend some good hdmi enabled goodies?

    4. I'll be using my pc through the tv too - whats the best way to connect it? I think my gfx card has dvi.

and lastly, speakers.. I'm thinking i might go for the MS genies, even if the design is a bit alien..but are they good value for £800?

    Thanks,
    Jon
