Hi, can anyone help, I have a problem with my Onkyo AV5VL amp.
It keeps going into safety (cut out) and silences itself.
I have tried it with different speaker cable and speakers to see if these are at fault and it still does it.

However i have tried unplugging the speakers and using headphone jack and it DOESN'T cut out.
Also curiously today i have tried one speaker plugged in at a time and this also DOESN'T cut out. It only cuts out when i plug in both speakers to the amp at the same time.
Does anyone know what is causing this?
    Thanks

Possibly a fault with the amp protection circuitry or main amp itself, as the headphone amp is a seperate circuit. The only other thought is if you have an issue with the input - may be out an of band signal that you cannot hear but the amp is trying to amplify. Have you tried a different source?

I have tried it with both cd and phono source and it cuts out on both.
I really need to know if it is the amp at fault, if i send it back they will charge me if the fault is not on the amp.
