Well I use active speakers with my AV8 so can't personally recommend any power amps. But with a bit of searching around found the following:

    http://www.hifisuppliers.co.uk/website/av-amps-receivers/nad-t973.htm
    NAD T973 £1099.95

    http://www.av-sales.com/html/myryad_mxa_range.html
    Myryad MXA7150 7 x 150W £3000

    http://www.grahams.co.uk/buying/av.htm
Arcam FMJ P7 7 Channel power amp. £2,600

    http://www.avforums.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-142500.html
    Atlantic Technology A-2000, 7 channel amp £1023

or of course if you are looking to upgrade your speakers you could do the same as me and get 7 Bluesky sat 6.5 actives at around £400 each, or save a few quid and get the sat 5's for surrounds at about £300 each.
www.abluesky.com for more info on the active speakers
www.sonic-distribution.com/2/pages/2_frameset.htm to arrange a free 7 day home trial.

Cant help with second hand power amps - though I'd add the Flying Mole Digital amps to your list of contenders for your pennies!

The DPA-M16 19" rack mount has an SRP of 890.00 GBP and you can populate it with up to 16 channels of amplification.

The DPA-M16u2 (2 x 100w/8ohm) dual mono chassis are 640.00 GBP and the DPA-M30u1 (300w/8ohm) mono chassis are also 640.00 GBP.

    See http://www.flyingmole.co.jp/en/products/dpam1616/index.html

There's also the non rack mount DAD-M100proHT units at 340.00 GBP per 100w/8ohm mono chassis.

    See http://www.flyingmole.co.jp/en/products/dadm100pro/index.html

You cant get anything smaller and neater that offers this level of performance.

Splitting the YUV output from your AV Processor is possibly best handled by a stand alone Video Switcher/DA - you can get YUV DA's; though these often lack any 'line drivers' if you have long cables going up to your PJ.

The Zektor HDS4.2 is a 4:2 Switcher/DA where Output One is Passive and Output Two is active.
    See http://www.zektor.com/hds42/index.htm -

The Zektor HDS4 is a 4:1 Switcher that can be reverse wired as a 1:4 Switching DA - though as above no line driver for long cables.
    See http://www.zektor.com/hds4/index.htm

The HDS4.2 is very easy to integrate with your MC8 as you teach it the IR commands your Lexicon handset uses and after that you pretty much forget about it in your system.

You could look to Kramer or similar for a RGBHV/YUV DA - though you'll pay Zektor money and not have seamless control or line drivers on the PJ cables.

    Best regards

    Joe

Is the DAD-M100dc actually fed by an external power supply, like Naim, or is the dc input for triggers ?

Also, is there a bb version, balanced input, regular speaker posts ?

    Hello Antonio

I've not used that model as yet - and its not covered in my user manual.

I'll put in a call to Tech Support and get back to you later today.

    Best regards

    Hello Antonio

The DAD-M100dc+ can be used with AC as its Primary power supply and DC as a back up should the AC fail or you can use it with DC only.

There's no Balanced with 4mm Binding post option - its Balanced with Speakon or Unbalanced with 4mm.

    Best regards

    Joe

Must be an improvement over standard with DC feed, shame they dont have the bb version, they didnt have it for the pro either, so when enough people asks for it they might do it...

I could sell my Bryston Powerpacs 120 and get a pair of those for my surround channels...

Another question, how do they handle 4 ohm loads, I had problems with the Bryston Powerpacs 120 and my 4 ohm Sonus Faber Signum surrounds, 4 woofers blown so far... :suicide:

Lowrider, might be interested in the powerpacs if they came up for sale, depending on what price you wanted for them. ;)

They would work really well with my PMC's. :D

    Hello all

Antonio - the literature I had yesterday afternoon omitted the DAD-M100dc+ BB - well spotted.

I haven't gone out to find 4ohm speakers to partner our DAD-M100pro HT units with! I can possibly try them with some Sonus Faber speakers later this week.

Wannabe-THX - PMC now include the Flying Moles with the active versions of the DB1S and TB2S :)

    Best regards

The reviews I found wherent very warm on how the Moles handle 4 ohm loads, so I will stick to my Powerpacs and hope the mod Bryston has done will avoid more problems in the future...
