Little Advice please if you wouldn't mind...

Now I'm not technically 'savy' when it comes to AV setups/equipment, however I do appreciate quality and as such like to indulge with a good setup :)

Now I have recently upgraded to B&W CM series 5.1 Speakers from B&W 600 series :) My next upgrades will include an Xbox 720/infinity/etc which is rumoured to support 4K HD visuals. The question I have is what amps will support this as a 4K TV will be purchased the back end of this year/begining of next once they become 'Affordable' :)

Any advice/ reccomendations would be greatly appreciated:)

    Thanks in advance

    Kev

Just purchased a Denon 4520. Supports 4k. From the quite extensive list of av amps I've had over the past 2 years it's the best yet. Expanded my set up to 11.2 and the sound is a revelation. Excellent for 2ch music as well.

Are you predicting affordable 4K TV sets by the end of this year? I think you're being very optimistic so good luck with that.

The AVR4520 will cost you about £2K. You don't need to buy a flagship receiver in order to obtain 4K video compatibility and/or scaling, but your speakers would probably benefit from doing so. Almost every current receiver now includes 4K video passthrough.

What kind of a budget do you have for the receiver?

    By affordable, I mean sub £10k :)

Budget wise I figure £1500-2000 so the Denon fits in nicely with that :) Any other suggestions?? Quiet like Onkyo :)

The Yamaha RXA3020 is another option as would be the Anthem MRX700. The NAD T 787 would be over budget, but you should try audition the NAD T 777 if possible. The Arcam AVR400 should also be on your shortlist.
