i have a Yamaha dspa 595A dts amp, but when playing movies and load base bits come through, the amp switches itself off. it now sounds awful with music to.

whats the problem, is it fixable or should i buy a new amp?

Is this problem new? Have you changed your speakers? Sounds like the amp's internal protection is kicking in because it is unable to drive your speakers as hard as you would like.

Amp sounds knackered. Get it repaired or replace it. Don't use it as it is- it could damage your speakers.
