    Hi,

I'm new to the world of AV...any advice appreciated.

I've just bought a Haus DVD player with built in Dolby and DTS decoding. I need to find a surround sound system to go with it, but most of the ones I have come across have decoders as part of the amp. Now I don't really want to pay for hardware I already have - I think I'm right in thinking I just need a 5.1 amp and speaker system with no decoder.

Do you know of a suitable system below about £250 quid?

    Cheers.

Assuming you've got a sub 200 quid player, in my opinion you'd get better performance if you get a DD / DTS amp and let that do the decoding.
